Who I am

I’m Val, a passionate user experience (UX) designer living in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina.

I’m currently working full-time as a designer and researcher on a Human Centered Design team that is supporting a government agency by improving the user experience of various enterprise applications.

With a background in business and marketing, I’m able to empathize with users and understand their expectations, goals, and pain points.

My fascination with cognitive science pushes me to create designs that are in line with how the brain functions, which reduces cognitive load and eases users’ minds.

My understanding of the technical side enables me to create well balanced designs that are feasible, reponsive, and accessible!
